Parent Question

Do STUNT athletes need to excel at every skill?

Short answer

No. On Episode 38, Amy Haney explained that STUNT teams need athletes with varied strengths and specialist roles — strong bases, flyers, tumblers, jumpers — rather than requiring every athlete to be elite at everything. That's part of why STUNT creates additional collegiate opportunities.

The CDU explanation

What that means in practice

The four-quarter structure rewards depth in specific areas, so a team benefits from athletes who are excellent at one thing rather than average at all four.

For an All-Star athlete who has spent years as a specialist, this can be the most realistic path onto a college roster.

It doesn't lower the bar — it changes which bar an athlete is measured against.
